A-2-Sea is a global telecommunications cable shore end and shallow water installation organisation. For over 20 years, A-2-Sea has been providing expert cable engineering, jointing, shallow water system installation and cable maintenance services to the global subsea community, including the ongoing design and development of specialised cable joints, injection moulding equipment, power grounding units, x-ray inspection systems, Hv equipment and tensile test equipment.

A-2-Sea is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Engineer to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electro/mechanical engineering and a proven track record of delivering high-quality design solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and create 3D parametric models and assemblies in accordance with design specifications.
- Generate 2D electro/mechanical engineering detail drawings, adhering to BS 8888 standards, for manufacturing and assembly purposes.
- Accurately measure and replicate existing parts and equipment as 3D models and assemblies.
- Update existing drawings in compliance with the company's ISO 9001 quality management system.
- Collaborate with various subcontractors throughout the manufacturing and build process.
- Work closely with cable engineers to identify potential product design improvements using CAD.
- Utilise CAD to support other areas of the company's business operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in the key responsibilities listed above.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and moderate experience with AutoCAD.
- A minimum of 4 years of full-time professional experience as a Design Engineer.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Comprehensive knowledge of material selection, fabrication methods, and machining capabilities for electro/mechanical manufacturing purposes.
- Solid understanding of part selection and compatibility.
- Willingness to engage in hands-on build and installation tasks.
The position:
- Primarily office-based in Romsey, with occasional site visits as required
- Working hours: 08:00-17:00 from Monday to Thursday, and 08:00-13:00 on Fridays.
